Customer Reviews

Happy initially but skeptical it'll lastReally wanted to love this. Setup went OK, the template was all bent up so the final screw locations ended up a little off. But that was easily fixed. The 2 issues I have are with the cross poles and the disregard for finished quality. One, once I got it all up, it just feels.. flimsy. It says it can hold 40 lbs, I'd be surprised. I screwed it into studs (on that note, THANK YOU AERO for making your screw holes on stud dimensions! How is that so hard for other companies to do???) and the brackets are solid, but the poles they use seem really thin. I guess we'll see.Secondly, THIS THING WAS FLAT OUT DIRTY. I used 7 simple green wipes getting it to where I'd want to hang clothes on. How this left the factory like that is beyond me, and judging by other reviews im not the only one.All together I'm skeptical but initially happy. It does look good, and solves a major problem we had. If it ends up lasting I'll adjust the stars accordingly. 3Definitely worth buying if you can get through the installThis a VERY sturdy rack. I bought three of them to replace the plastic Pohler racks that I ve had for years and it a drastic improvement in terms of build. However, it is very difficult to install. The screws provided didnt fit the holes in the rack, they were too small and just went right through. Also, the directions to drill a pilot hole using 1/4" bit means that the provided screws fall right through the wall. So DONT USE THE TEMPLATE OR THE SCREWS! Use the actual rack to mark your holes. This rack can support a lot of weight so make sure your hardware is up to the task. It took my brother-in-law 2 hours in total to hang two of the racks because of the template/screw mistakes and because he had to go find proper screws.Beyond the actual build of the rack, it does provide plenty of drying space. Be aware that while you are able to use regular clothespins, it is a very tight fit, and I expect that the clothespins (which are of a very good quality) may not last very long. 5Very pleased with this productI'm very happy with this product. I had been using a huge, stand alone, clothes drying rack in my bedroom for years and years and just finally got sick of it being a fixture in my room (my laundry room is small and has no place for a floor rack) . I never seemed to remember to take clothes off of it until I needed more space for wet clothes. The thing was ALWAYS up, loaded with clothes, and cluttering up my space. I've hung this in my laundry room, high enough to be out of the way (and mostly out of the way when expanded) but low enough to be able to reach up and hang things. It's perfect! Because it's slightly in my way when expanded AND loaded with clothes (the refrigerator door, when opened up all the way, swings into the wet clothes a little), it reminds me to empty it as soon as things dry. Then I just push it back in against the wall, where it takes up practically no space, and certainly not any space that's being used for anything else. It's sturdy, and even though it's only hung on sheet rock (with anchors) it seems to be very solid. It can be pulled out a lot or just a little, depending on the amount of clothes needing to be hung. Now that I have a drying rack conveniently IN my laundry room, I tend to stay on top of those loads that have a lot of 'hang to dry' items, instead of letting them pile up. Hanging the actual rack up was a bit of a challenge, it would be much easier with two people. The only thing that could be improved was the template included to help place holes on the wall was rolled up, and it kept wanting to re-roll itself, so I kept fighting with it to keep it flat against the wall. I tried to use tape, but the tape just came off the wall. Not sure why the paper needed to be rolled up, I mean, if the box is long enough for the product, it would be long enough for the template. 5Great product, it works very well and it looks ...Great product, it works very well and it looks very stylish. I have my cloth rack on my laundry and it helps me to hang wet clothes and while I am not using it I can just push it back and it doesn't occupy any space. I chose this rack over other because it looks stylish and is made of quality material. The costumer service was great as well. 5Decluttered our laundry roomThis is a perfect solution for ridding the laundry room of a cumbersome drying rack, always in the way when in use. Four stars would be five if mounting holes were spaced to drill into studs. We had to mount it to wood drilled into the studs. A pine stair step purchased from our local home improvement store was the perfect size. We painted it to match the walls. The rack is very sturdy. 4Excellent Product - But Read This before you install!I love the product. Very well built and very sturdy.Caution when hanging though, here are a few tips:1) The template did not exactly match the mounting bracket. It was off about 3/16". Before drilling, put the unit on top of the template and mark through the holes in the mounting bracket.2) If you are going into drywall, not a stud, use the toggle anchors that come with the package. Don't use the flimsy plastic anchors.3) Add stainless steel washers - especially in the bottom two holes. It needs them. 5So glad I finally decided to order this!I delayed ordering this rack for a long time due to the price, but I'm so glad I finally did. It is fabulous! (well, as fabulous as a drying rack can be.) We were using a stand up "accordion" rack that was always in the way and coming undone. This rack is solid/sturdy and holds a ton of clothes. I also use a few hangers on the bottom to dry shirts. We opted to mount a 1x6 wood plank to the drywall first (so that we could drill directly into the studs) and then mounted the rack to the wood plank to make sure it was secured well. The rack did not come with drywall anchors (only tile and plaster anchors). I wouldn't rely of the "template" that was provided, as it was not exactly aligned with the screw holes on the rack. Even with the added wood support we did ourselves (which we also needed to prime/paint so it matched the wall) installation was relatively easy and quick. Took an evening to get our plan together and another to execute it. 5Bad installation instructionsOk I have to vent about the installation instructions and material provided. 1st I should have read the review that said the template does not match. Cause it does not so DONT USE THE TEMPLATE. Use the actual rack to mark your holes. Also you are provided screws with plastic anchors and butterfly screws. The instructions says to drill a pilot hole using 1/4" bit. Again DONT USE THAT! That is too big. The plastic anchors went in smoothly enough but when I went to install the screws they pushed right through the wall. There is supposed to be a tight fit in order to provide the support but if the pilot hole is too big the anchors do not grab properly. Tried to figure out how to use the butterfly screws because there was no direction provided for those and failed. So through some wacky hill Billy engineering involving liquid nail and screws I already had in my possession I was able to hang it. I have 4 extra holes in my wall that I didnt want and it took me 2 hours in total. ....edited to add had to go and get more screws. The ones in the picture were a great solution and I was able to use the 1/4" hole I already drilled. 4it works great. It took a little bit of work to ...This was just the thing I needed, it works great. It took a little bit of work to set it up, but if you have any practical experience hanging items or taking apart anything by IKEA (ha ha, I know, but seriously, it wasn't that bad) you'll be able to figure out the best way to hang this.My dryer died last summer and I just didn't feel like spending money on it. I realize I have a kinda radical lifestyle, but I just didn't see the point of wasting money on the energy the dryer uses, and it's actually had a significant impact on our energy bill. I hang my wash using this clothes rack and it's both sturdy and durable. It took me awhile to settle on this one but ultimately, the fact that it's stainless steel and the design is simple sold me on it -- I needed something that looked nice but also did the job. Wet clothes add up to quite a bit of poundage, but this thing has yet demonstrate any difficulty, despite hanging quite a few wet jeans on it -- that said, I screwed it into the studs, so barring a massive catastrophe, I don't think it's coming out. Sometimes I lay a towel beneath to catch any dripping. So far, it's been a lifesaver helping me get away from an appliance dependent lifestyle, I would recommend it. 5Oversized rack for undersized laundry room but made it workThis is a really high quality product, well worth the money ($60 when I bought it). It is large, easily holding a lot in terms of both quantity and weight. Since my laundry room is tiny, we inverted the rack and installed it above a doorway, using a step stool (also from Amazon!) to access it -- see photos. My husband, as always, ignored the template and directions yet easily installed it (without disassembling it) in less than 15 minutes including the time it took to grab some extra toggle bolts for security. One nice thing about installing over a doorway was that the studs were placed precisely right, which is hit-or-miss elsewhere in this 50 year old house. 5
