Great sleep sack, excellent quality, keeps baby warm!My first child had a Baby Deedee sleep sack that he used for several months. We really liked it, but alas, he was a terrible sleeper and after 6 months or so, we resorted to co sleeping so the baby stopped using sleep sacks. My second baby turned out to be a fantastic sleeper, who, at 7 weeks, transitioned to the size small Baby Deedee passed down from big brother, and has slept soundly in it since then, and transferred to a size medium at 4.5 months, being a tall baby. The size small was well loved between two babies, several months each, and survived lots of spit up and leaky diapers. It's so easy to wash, and the fabric still looks nice. The design of this sleep sack is great. The snaps make it easy to put on a baby who is already asleep. Yes, it does make a sound as you pinch the snaps together, but that's much less disruptive than wrestling with a baby's arms and trying to fit them into small arm holes. The thickness is also another amazing feature. It's very hard to find thicker sleep sacks for cold nights. We live in the midwest, where you really do need something quite warm in the winter. And even in the summer, we keep the AC at 71 degrees (which probably makes it around 68-70 degrees in the kids' room), and keep a fan on (reduces SIDS risk!). I dress the baby in a long sleep cotton pajama, or even just a long sleep cotton onesie/bodysuit, and the baby stays warm and happy. This sleep sack is so perfect all year round. We did have a Halo sleep sack, but I used it only for a few days before I ditched it and invested in this much higher quality sleep sack. May your baby also enjoy this sleep sack and sleep through the night! If you found my review helpful, please click below :) 5An improvement to the halo sleepsackI ve been putting my daughter in a swaddle and then sleep sack since birth and now she is 17 months. I mainly purchased the baby deedee because I needed something that would last the rest of her sleepsack wearing days and would be warm enough for a cold night (in Southern California). With that said, this sleepsack exceeded my expectations! Not only has it checked all my boxes but it s design has made it so nice and easy to get her ready for bed at night. The clasps on the shoulders are so convenient, esp for a toddler who likes to run away when you re changing her clothes. My daughter is still under the weight limit recommended for this sleepsack but it still fits her nicely with obvious room for her to grow in the next 1-2 years. The thickness seems to be enough for her on colder nights, which are probably around 72-73 degrees in her room. There s no piling or problems with the upkeep of the sack since it s cotton so hopefully it will keep for the next year or so! 5I was thrown off at first by how long this ...I was thrown off at first by how long this blanket is, but that's a huge plus in the end. My 2 year old daughter has always slept in wearable blankets and she loves this one. The cotton is incredibly cozy and versatile. It gets about 60-65 in our house in the winter and she's plenty warm in a long sleeve 2 piece PJ set. In summer she'd be fine with just the blanket on, really. It does an amazing job of capturing body heat.Only complaint is the shoulder buttons which I assume are there for safety? Or convenience? Either way my kid just unbuttons the shoulders and steps out when she's upset. It can make the bedtime struggle even harder occasionally. 4Has lasted 3 years with heavy use, and I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.I bought this sleep sack 3 years ago, and it's been heavily used by two little ones daily. The zipper is definitely heavy duty, and I love the fact that it zips from top to bottom. Feeling the weight of the zipper and the quality of the stitching, I'm not at all remotely worried about the zipper separating from the sack. When the sleep sack is zipped, the zipper fits into a pocket that protects our crib sheets from damage and keeps the actual zipper out of little hands. My daughters have always slept better while wearing the sleep sack than when not wearing it. During the winter months, I can put my girls in either lightweight pj's or a long-sleeved onesie and they're more than warm enough when wearing the sleep sack - no extra blanket needed. To be completely honest, I haven't exactly followed the recommended cleaning instructions - I don't wash it on gentle and I dry it in the dryer on a normal cycle with the rest of our clothes instead of hanging it to dry. That being said, it's actually held up really well. There's definitely visible wear and tear (see photos), but I'm about 95% sure that's completely my fault. If you look at the photos, most of the wear and tear on the blue piping is from pacifier clips being attached in the same spot over and over again. There's a hole warn into the liner, but again, I think that's how I was washing it and what I was washing it with. The same with the stitching on the inside that has worked free/broken. After three years of HEAVY use (almost nightly and during most naps), this thing is in great shape, comparatively speaking.I've loved this so much that I ended up buying a lightweight one for the warmer months, and I also bought one as a shower gift for a pregnant friend of mine. I heartily recommend them to anyone I know, and I know you won't be disappointed if you buy it. Once my youngest grows out of this one, I'll probably buy another one in the larger size. They're just that great. 5Suffocation hazardSo, the point of a sleep sack is to keep you baby warm but not have the suffocation hazard of loose blankets. The neck opening on this is so large that the front can easily come up and cover the nose/mouth. This makes it no safer than a blanket, thus defeating the entire point of a sleep sack. My son is 8 months in the size medium. His head circumference is in the 77th percentile, so it's not like he's got an abnormally small head.I'm unhappy considering the price and how well reviewed this is. Well, that and the danger it poses to babies. I've added photos to show what I'm talking about.I will say that it is warm, easy to get on, and seems to be made well otherwise. What I would recommend instead is the Grobag. The material is nicer, it's just as thick and warm, and the neck opening is small enough that he was able to use the 0-6 month size at a week old, and still uses it now. He is tall for his age and still has length in the 0-6m size too, so it's long lasting. We use it most of the time now that it's winter. 1Great transition from Magic Sleep SuitThis was the perfect solution to transition my daughter from the Magic Merlin Sleep Suit. I think that because this is quilted, that it's more snug so it was an easy transition for her. The snaps on the shoulders are great even though we usually leave them snapped, but I imagine as she get bigger, it'll be easier to use the snaps to get her in and out. I like that the zipper zips top to bottom so if she rolls to her belly she isn't resting on it. It cleans and dries very nicely as well. 5We LOVE dee dee sleep sacksWe LOVE dee dee sleep sacks. We have purchased 12 (yes twelve!) dee dee sleep sacks for our two children over the last 5 years: two sets of small, medium, and large for each of our two children: one for at home and one for daycare. We have used these for our children from age 4/5 months through age 2+ years, including after they started walking. We stopped using them for our daughter once we moved her out of her crib (younger son is still in his crib). These are the only sleep sacks we use, so they have withstood many, many washings. We have never had a quality problem with any of the 12 sleep sacks we purchased - no rips or tears, no extra strings, all zippers and snaps still functional and attached. We use these sacks year round (air conditioning in summer), with our kiddos wearing seasonally appropriate clothing underneath. We consider these sleep sacks to be one of our smartest baby purchases - definitely worth the investment; we also give them to our friends as new baby gifts. 5Top Notch! My 19-month-old daughter's room tends to get very cold in the winter and also in the summer because of the air conditioner. So she needs a thick sleep-sack year-round. I've tried just about every sleep-sack under the sun. You name it, chances are I've tried it. There are a few qualities about this sleep-sack that set it apart from the rest.WHAT I LOVE: The quality of these sacks are amazing. They're extremely well made and have held up well. The inside is lined with crazy soft cotton. They wash well. I just throw these in with my normal wash and then dry on low. These keep my little one warm throughout the night. She also never overheats. Great price. With this quality, these will last for a long time. The shoulder snaps make getting a wiggly toddler dressed for bed that much easier. The zipper is large and thick. Which means it's going to last longer than the small dainty zippers.I cannot recommend these enough. They are by far the best sleep-sacks that I have used. The quality is top notch and the colors are stylish. 5Worth it!I love the Baby Deedee Sleep Nest! I ordered the sleep sack in December for my infant son after trying many different brands. I was getting frustrated because he always seemed to wake up with cold hands and feet. We live in Colorado so we are used to cold winters, but I don't feel comfortable using blankets in his crib. Some fleece sacks that we tried would trap the heat in and he'd wake up clammy. This sleep sack really seems to keep him at the perfect temperature. His room tends to drop down to about 65 degrees at night and he no longer wakes up with cold feet. I've also been very impressed with the quality. We use it for 2 naps a day and every night at bedtime, so we've really put it to the test. Two months later and it's still perfect after daily use. It really does live up to the hype and is worth every penny!!Sizing notes -- At the time of purchase, my son was 10 months old, 20 lbs, 29" long. The medium was perfect -- it fit him well with room to grow but not so large that he could wiggle out of it.Customer service -- I think the customer service is what has made me a Baby Deedee fan for life. I had an issue with the first sleep nest that we received. It had a small hole along the seam. I sent an email directly to their customer service and received a personal call within an hour. When does that ever happen??? A replacement was sent out immediately. 5 stars not only for the product but also for customer service. 5Works even better than expectedLike many other parents we have experimented with a handful of different sleepwear products. Our baby boy was sleeping great in his Love To Dream Swaddle Up Original- Gray- Small 6.6 - 13.2 lbs but once he started rolling over onto his chest, we needed to find something that would leave his arms free.We were very interested in this sleeping bag since it would theoretically last a year which is virtually unheard of when it comes to baby products. When it arrived we were a bit worried by how long it is but it doesn't interfere at all with his sleep. Our son has been sleeping great in it and while we are a little worried about how cold his hands get, he is sleeping very well and when he does roll over, he has the freedom to push himself up and increasingly, back onto his back. 5
