Writes Smoothly and The Lead Is Strong (.9) SizeThese pencils write well, very smooth, and the lead doesn t break easily. The traditional yellow color makes them easy to see in my shop. This is a .9 size lead, and it makes a wide line compared to the .5 size. I find the erasers are ok, but, since the lead is advanced by pushing on the back, using the eraser can inadvertently advance the lead. No big deal to me. The eraser does erase quickly and completely, but wood with deep grain can t be erased easily with a pencil eraser. 5Good multi-pack of mechanical pencils at a great price. See PROS and CONS below:At the beginning of the school year, I picked up a twelve pack of these BIC 0.7mm lead mechanical pencils. Here are a few PROS and CONS for these pencils:PROS:They come pre-loaded with lead and operation is smooth. They have an eraser and a pocket clipMulti-pack in case they get lost or brokenInexpensiveMultiple colors in each pack to keep track of whose is whose0.7 lead refills widely availableCONS:Plastic body of pencil is thin and prone to cracking if banged aroundErasers disintegrate quicker than normal.Overall these pencils were a pretty good buy for a great price. My three kids prefer to use these over standard pencils and if one or two get lost or destroyed in a backpack, it is replaceable. 4Good for A Pack of PencilsI'm still using the first pencil out of this packet, but I am generally terrible with trying to keep all my pencils throughout the semester, so I decided to buy 24 of them just in case I was extra forgetful. Plus, the refill lead is sold at Meijer for only about $1.09 - not that bad (and you can find replacement erasers at Meijer and Target - or even on Amazon if you so choose). 5Good pencil good valueIt's a pencil, it can write and that's good enough for me. I just wished that this came in different colors instead of only yellow. However, I purchased this type of mechanical pencil only because it was the cheapest mechanical pencil product. One of the things I was worried about before buying this product is that after a while of writing in the same angle, the letters I write become thicker and become slightly hard to recognize if you don't physically rotate the pencil a bit. I tested it out between my 0.7 and 0.9 lead pencils and not sure if you can tell from the photo, the 0.7 lead didn't get noticeably thick until the second line, while 0.9 was noticeably thicker in the middle of line 1. But that's not a big deal for me, I just rotate it every once in a while, it's not like this will make my handwriting worse than it is. Also I realized that none of my friends have the same pencil as me, so it lessens the chance of it getting stolen. ;)So far, after using it for a few weeks, it has yet to break on me while writing. (it does occasionally break when dropped on the ground at certain angles)As for the pencil feeling lighter, like one reviewer mentioned, I didn't feel a difference. Just a good pencil to me. 5Great carpeneter's pencilsThese work GREAT for woodworking. The lead holds up to marking wood, they're cheap enough to not care if you lose a few, you get a nice sharp line, and the best part is you won't be busting out your knife constantly to keep 'em sharpened. The plastic pocket clip does a good job of making sure they don't roll off your work piece, but don't expect them to last if you're using them as actual pocket clips (I just throw them in a pencil pouch anyway.) These have replaced my more expensive mechanical carpenter's pencils. 5a classic Bic design in a larger lead sizeThis style of Bic mechanical pencil has been around for at least 25 years as far as know and you can see why: it's very inexpensive, a comfortable shape that gives good writing precision, and very reliable - after all these years I can't remember any of these failing on me other than the eraser needing to be replaced.I always had the 0.5 and 0.7mm versions - but I now tried the 0.9mm and I don't know what took me so long. The 0.9mm leads rarely break like thinner leads do. Each pencil comes pre-loaded with several extra leads but I put in some B leads instead (one step softer than the included HB leads) and it's an awesome general-purpose writing & drawing pencil. I tried a $5 Kokuyo mechanical pencil that looks snazzy, but I actually prefer the feel & comfort of this Bic at 1/10th the cost. 5I like these pencils - I have 0Overall, I like these pencils - I have 0.7 mm lead size. The one star draw back is the lead advancing part. In the many mechanical pencils I have used, both 0.5 and 0.7 mm, in advancing the lead, it advanced in small, measured increments. With these pencils, one very brief depression of the eraser, and the lead "falls out" of the tip. These would be more appealing if that one piece was changed, so the lead advances in measured increments. 4Sturdy point! As a college student I need something reliable and easy to use. The pencil point is sturdy and rarely breaks. It writes fine enough to always appear sharp which keepsMy math looking neat and easy to read. This is my third time purchasing two boxes of the 9mm variety. Highly recommend! 5Super mechanical pencil for the price. The best thing about mechanical pencils is that the lead is always "sharp." The worst thing is that the lead often breaks easily. That's what makes these pencils so great. Since they are of .09mm lead thickness, they don't snap easily even if you push down a bit too much lead. Also, they are #2 lead that makes for a bold, yet easily erasable script. The erasers at the top are nice and soft and do a good job. Since there are twelve in a box, these are going to last me for a while, but when I run out, I'm going to buy these again -- not even shop for others. 5Probably shouldn't ship them in an envelope. You can't really go wrong with BIC pencils, good as always. Only problem I has was with shipping. they showed op the box was really beat up and all of the pencils had fallen out of it, they were fine though. They really just need to work on their packaging. 4
