As Advertised, read the ENTIRE product descriptionA little background. I have been living on an Airbase in Afghanistan for 3 years. The sheets they had available were awful with polyester sheets with a thread count hovering around 300. So, I found these on Amazon. I READ the entire description. I did not want Egyptian Cotton sheets as the water used to wash everything here is extremely hot and heavily chlorinated. Authentic Egyptian Cotton sheets for a Twin size bed with a thread count of 1500 will run upwards of $250 to $500. I have seen King sized sheet sets run over $1000. I knew what I was getting. I wanted something durable, comfortable, pleasant to look at, and inexpensive. When it says "like 1500 thread count Egyptian Cotton" that is exactly what it means. This IS an imitation product meant to look and feel like the real thing at a fraction of the cost. If you bought these believing you were getting a premium Egyptian Export for less than $50 you do not need to post your frustration in the reviews. That is on you.I bought 2 sets of these and I rotate them for nearly a tenth the cost of one set of the real thing. I am still using both sets. I washed them the moment I received them. I have to be careful changing them because our bed frames are made of rough metal with sharp edges. This goes for any set of sheets. After nearly 3 years of use in Afghanistan the elastic is still strong, there is one spot of discoloration about the size of a quarter on the mattress cover, no tears that I can find, and still comfortable. These sheets do exactly what they are supposed to do and are as advertised. If you want fast, comfortable, inexpensive sheets these are for you. If you are looking for the real deal you will not find them on Amazon. You WILL have to go elsewhere.
5Should read the reviews...I was duped! It's my fault for not reading critically, for being tired when I placed the order, and for being seduced by what was seemingly a great price on a great product. Um, not so much. The sheets are 100% POLYESTER, MADE IN CHINA. Egyptian 1500 thread count my butt. The sheets are soft enough but they were warm on the first try, a cool August evening. Most interestingly, the sheets came with a package insert saying (paraphrase) "Give a 5 Star Amazon review and get a free set of pillowcases in any of these assorted colors!" Um, yeah, I think I know where the five star reviews are coming from now.
3Please read before buying! These sheets were literally delivered 3 hours ago. Put them on our bed and they ripped within 5 minutes! I am so disappointed!
1Misleading TrashThese sheets prominently emphasize "Egyptian" to mislead you into thinking they are cotton; but read carefully, it's 100% polyester (read: synthetic, non-breathable, HOT, sticky sheets). Even the front of the package it comes in says "1500 Thread Count 100% Egyptian Cotton". But if you read the smaller text above that it says "experience the comfort and soft touch as a". (See photos on this review)It's my fault for not reading the description carefully; but hopefully you won't make the same mistake. Time to go ship it back and get my 100% Egyptian refund.
1FASLE and misleading title! NOT like Egyptian cotton! It's not cheap cotton! It's 100% CHEAP poly! The title for these ultra cheap super thin sheets is VERY misleading! Title: "Egyptian Quality Bed Sheet" led me (and most likely many others) to believe these sheets were either Egyptian cotton or cotton of similar quality to Egyptian cotton. Wrong! These are 1) polyester sheets and 2) SO THIN you can almost see through them! An explanation for those who don't know sheets follows. Cotton sheets are considered best because they allow your skin pressing down against them to "breathe" and air to circulate helping you stay dry and cool. Egyptian cotton breathes the best of all the cottons. It's what it's known worldwide for and what the title of this seller is comparing his sheets too. Polyester sheets (what these sheets REALLY are) do not breathe and on bottom sheets they make your skin sweat feeling damp and muggy. If you have a foam mattress (instead of springs) polyester bottom sheets compound the hot spot heating/sweating problem even worse. So saying these sheets are "Egyptian Quality" is as deceptive as saying a seafood induced fart is the same quality as an ocean breeze. Sleazy advertising for CHEAP poly sheets! Buyer beware!
1Deceptive advertising. NOT COTTON, let alone Egyptian cottonOn Prime Day I found these sheets. The price seemed low, so I read the description which included "soft touch of Egyptian cotton," and "1500 thread count." The tiny picture of the product did not reveal that these are, in fact, MICROFIBER sheets. They are very, very thin and in a sleazy way, not a finely woven way. They can't be washed in warm or hot water, or dried on a sanitizing cycle. This means that they will be hard to clean of dust mites and stains. Shame on the people who wrote the copy for this and those who bought a product not even labeled with country of origin. Extremely disappointed to have been hoodoo' by Amazon on this purchase.
1Cheap polyester thin fabric. It's meant to trick the customer: "as soft as 1500 thread count Egyptian cotton -- but it's cheap, thin, polyester! what a total ripoff! It is NOT Egyptian cotton, it's thin polyester. Doesn't feel good to sleep on at all.
1Not the perfect fit - EVEN BETTER!This is my second purchase, from this seller and for this product. The first was 11 months ago, for sheets for my son's regular, full-size bed. I was initially impressed by the softness of these sheets but was skeptical that they would hold up long-term - especially for the price. Once we got them washed and put on the bed, I noticed that the fitted sheet was slightly larger than the mattress which seemed odd at the time, but my son's mattress is older and not a pillow-top or extra thick, so I just decided it was okay but wasn't looking forward to constantly having to adjust his fitted sheet back on the bed. I am very impressed that after almost a year, they are still in perfect condition and even softer than they were out of the packaging AND I NEVER have to adjust the fitted sheet. The fact that the fitted sheet is slightly over sized has never been an issue as the sheet stays in place. For our king-size bed, I have purchased 2 different deep-pocket sets of sheets from our local bed and bath store, and although they fit the bed perfectly, we are constantly fighting to keep the fitted sheet on the corners of the bed, because they ONLY fit perfectly. In other words, if the bed was just for "looking" there would be no problem, but because we actually use our bed, it's a problem. At any rate, I had an idea that if my son's fitted sheet is a little too big for HIS mattress...maybe I could get lucky and order a king-size set for our bed and that would be the case for our fitted sheet also. Our bed set is only 11 months old and has a mattress that is extra thick. To my pleasant surprise, the fitted sheet IS just slightly larger than our pillow-top mattress - which is GREAT as this allows for normal movement without the corners popping off! I'm still so very impressed with this seller and the product! The price is 1/2 of what I paid for each of our other sheet sets that DON'T work, and I received my sheets 4 days earlier than expected!
5Amazing comfort. Horrible color.I recently ordered a new comforter so I was looking for sheets that would compliment the color of my comforter when I came across these. I absolutely loved the color, but much to my disappointment they look nothing like the photo. They're much more drab in person. I was expecting a deep plum color and what I received was something completely different. The color is dull and dingy and it's not something I would have bought if I had seen it prior to purchasing. That being said, these are some of the most comfortable sheets I've ever owned. They are unbelievably soft to the touch and feel wonderful against my skin. It it wasn't for the amazing comfort of these sheets, I would have immediately returned them. These would be perfect if the color was true to the photo.
3FALSE ADVERTISING! DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU WANT 100% POLYESTER MADE IN CHINA!!! BEWARE!!!Since when does "1500 thread count Egyptian cotton" cost $28? When it's actually "100% Polyester, made in China". That's right, the packaging on this product is deceptive in the extreme, using language so crafty it could have been written by a tobacco industry lawyer. "LIKE Egyptian Cotton"..."the soft touch of 1500 thread count" blah blah...until you actually receive the sheets, see how thin and flimsy they are, and then notice - in teeny, tiny print - that they are actually just good ol' fashioned synthetic crapola. Don't be fooled by the 5 star reviews...skip this crap and save your money to buy the REAL thing!
