Great on motorcycle trips in summer!!!This is one of the less expensive cooling cloths out there ... I tried it on a hot day using my walk-behind mower and thought it was just OK.BUT, then I used on a motorcycle trip thru Tennessee and Missouri and into Arkansas in August - it was GREAT!!!With the moving air it really makes a noticeable difference! I just wrapped it around my neck and let the ends hang down over my chest, under my mesh motorcycle jacket. Now that I've used it, I'll always take it along. I attached the sturdy plastic case it come in to my luggage rack.I'd wet it down each night, and place in case. Then use during the day ... when it starts to dry out, I'd rewet it when stopping for gas. Then repeat each day. 5Long Lasting CoolingPurchased 26 July 2019. I rate the towel 4-star based on that I have only used twice, but impressed with how long it last (cooling). Compared to the other cooling towel I have this one is amazing. I live in Mississippi. I cut 2 acres of grass yesterday, trimmed with a push mower. The heat index was a 107%. I broke a little sweat trimining. While cutting grass with riding mower I noticed how cool the towel felt on my neck and shoulders. When I got though cutting I was not hot like I usally feel after cutting. The towel does dry hard but when you wet it again it is very flexable. It's big enuff to fit inside a shirt and wrap around your neck, and long enuff to lay on your chest to some degee. After using the towel two times I was very impressed how good it cools and "how long" it last. It takes me about 2:20 mins to cut my yard. The towel was still wet when I finished. Previous week I cut 4 acres at my church. Stayed cool the entire time. Towel started to dry out towards th end---simple to restore by wetting again. I did not snap or swirl the towel the times I have used it but noticed how cool the towel felt when put it around my neck but will next time: did not know you were suppose to. Since I do not use it everyday, I hand rinse it and let it dry flat or hang on a clothes hanger. Have to say it is the best towel I have every used that last a long time (cool to the skin). I have suggested to other friends that complained their towels do not last long---provide cooling relifef. Does a great job. 4HEAVY WET SPONGE LIKE - NOT WHAT I HOPED I WAS ORDERINGSome cooling towels are a light cloth with amazing cooling capabilities. You dampen them and then give them a quick shake when they are no longer cooling and they are immediately cool again. This is what I thought I was ordering.Instead this is a heavy rubber like material, probably exactly like an Absorber I use to dry my car. It is simply like hanging a heavy wet sponge around your deck. I will keep mine to dry my car... for that purpose it is just fine. 1Useful in many situationsThese arrived just in time. This review is for the chill-its in Pink sold by ergodyne. They diffinaly help to cool you off. Amazing for sports and also really helps for high heat days and for cooking you when you have a fever. As you can see in the photo my little guy the cool-it wraps all the way around his head. The reason I reduced review by one stay is that although this works well, I have used other brands that kept a bit cooler longer, and for some reason when it drys it becomes stiff as a board.Over all it's still completely worth it!Since I've purchased this we've used it every single day! 4It might save a lifeThis was a repeat order based on previous satisfaction with product. I stocked up for increasing heat wave pattern in So-Cal. On the day after a mail carrier died on duty in a nearby location that reached 106, our own mail carrier expressed grief over the loss and concern for their own safety going forward in this weather. They said they were drinking water but had trouble cooling down during their shift. I took out my cooling towel and said, "You need one of these," got it wet, and told them to keep it. The next day they told me how well it was working for them and what a difference it makes when they wrap the wet cooling towel around their head under their hat. I was surprised that it works underneath a hat but their uniform hat has air holes for circulation. I'm so happy to hear it made their job easier and healthier. The post office should pass these things out to all carriers. It's getting hotter all the time and they're either out in it or in their metal trucks, which must be like the sweatbox in "Coolhand Luke." 5I have used this on a few hikes now and it works pretty well for about 3-4 hours without re-wetting then it ...I'm training for a Spartan race and hiking was a big part of my training plan. I have used this on a few hikes now and it works pretty well for about 3-4 hours without re-wetting then it starts to dry out quickly and gets really stiff. Since I've been hiking longer and longer distances it has been nice to help with cooling and then I don't need to consume as much water on the hike. But on one hike at hour 5 I ran out out of water and then it was more of a hindrance than an asset. There wasn't anywhere on the trek to re-hydrate it so it got stiff and i didn't have a good place to store it.Overall I think I will use it on hikes that I know will last under 4 hours or will have a water source somewhere along the way. 4Keeping You Cooler for Hours! These cooling towels work well, especially during our Texas summers! They help dissipate perspiration from your body while helping to keep you cool. The cooling feature is just ok, but the product does a great job drawing heat from your body for several hours. I use mine while gardening and playing softball. The towel's length is long enough to tie or fit inside your shirt collar (I use mine around my neck, but I've seen others use it as a head bandana). It's also handy as a face wipe for those times when you don't have access to anything else nearby. These are easy to launder and maintain; keep in mind they arrive slightly damp, but when it is completely dry it's as stiff as a board. It's a good idea to have a place to hang it when not in use. I love that it doesn't require cold water to work - just regular tap water. You can wring out excess water easily so you won't feel like you have a heavy, dripping towel on you. In fact, it's very light-weight. I've even bought a few for friends and they all agree it's a huge help in the hot sun! 5it works, but doesn't get as cool as another brand we ownWe live in Florida and I had the bizarre urge to go to Disney World in mid July! Ok, this is crazy because if you have ever been to Florida in mid summer, you know how incredibly HOT and HUMID this state is. Like ridiculously hot. But I planned ahead and purchased this cooling cloth and another brand (Frogg Toggs.) I purchased specifically based on colors. I thought gray was less obnoxious and a good color for my husband. I thought all cooling cloths are created equal...I was wrong. These work the same as the Froggs Toggs, you wet, wring out excessive amounts of water, shake and then they are cool, wrap/drape around neck. They do get cool and they do work, HOWEVER, the other brand (FT) was remarkably cooler than this one from Ergodyne. My husband and I were both fighting over who got to use the other cooling rag...because this one didn't pass muster in comparison. Again, this one works, but not as well....it didn't get as cool or stay as cool as the FT. This one cost the same as the FT, so it isn't even like I bought a "discount" item. They are both brand name products that are priced comparably. If I didn't have the other brand to compare on the same day in the same heat conditions, perhaps I would have thought this one was a 5 as it did still help, BUT the Froggs Toggs was certainly the better buy. 3Works for me!Great product, works like it's supposed to. I use this to cool down when I have a migraine or sinus headache and it works! I don't like to use a cold pack for my headaches because they seem to make them worse. I wet the towel with cold tap water, wring and fold it in half then lay the towel over my forehead, eyes and sinuses. I also use this when I feel hot after work or traveling in the car. Instant relief!I bought 3 different brands of cooling towels (Chill-its, Frogg Togg and Mission EnduraCool) to try and I like the Chill-Its the most: lightweight, doesn't feel like a wet towel or too spongy in texture, was the 2nd coldest towel among the 3 brands and stayed cool for a couple hours at least in upper 80s degrees heat & heavy humidity (I live in Hawaii) before needing to be recharged/wet again. It doesn't have a strong odor like some reviewers stated at least not IME, does have a chamois-like cloth texture whether wet or dry (almost like the chamois cloths for cars but they don't keep you cool like Chill-Its, I tried one out of curiosity) and is easy to care for - just wash with mild detergent (preferably fragrance-free) and hang to dry then store in case or store in its' case moist in the refrigerator as recommended by manufacturer to make it colder longer. Reasonably priced and cheapest of the 3 at less than $9.Frogg Toggs was a very close 2nd in my opinion: it was the coldest of the 3 brands I tried and also stayed cold the longest. It was the heaviest of the 3 towels though, bled blue dye when I first washed it (I got one in varsity blue); has this slightly spongy texture and a latex smell initially. Frogg Togg was reasonably priced at $10+. My brother immediately snapped it up and used it during a recent pistol competition where it kept him nice and cool and comfortable throughout.Mission EnduraCool towel I liked the least, I bought it at a local sports store where it was the only available cooling towel. I wasn't impressed, it just felt like a regular wet towel after following the instructions, even tried cold water and snapping it several more times with no appreciable difference in coldness (only got cold with use of cold water, but warmed up quick within half an hour). It was 2nd heaviest in weight when wet/damp among the 3 towels I tried, it felt wet even when wrung well and had a slight chemical smell. It does have a nice silky-like fabric feel and looks the least like a car finishing cloth among the 3 brands, was ready to use/wet right out of the case (the other 2 brands need to be washed first before use) but that's all it had going for it. It was the most expensive at more than $20 + sales tax but I needed some cooling towels last minute to send with my parents who were going out of the country at the time.I would definitely buy the Chill-Its towel again when I need another cooling towel. 5Great for keeping you cool in the heat! This cooling towel works great to keep you cool in hot weather. It works via evaporation: you get the towel wet/damp and then as the water evaporates, it cools your skin. It worked very well when we went hiking and whenever it dried out, we just poured some water from our water bottle on it and it was cool again. It holds onto the water well enough that you don't get wet while using this product, but if you have it on your shoulders, your shirt might feel damp when you take off the towel. This wasn't a problem for me because it just provided additional cooling. 5
