Fails to hold water.. leaks really bad. Nothing like getting down to the last part on your check list of a DIY project to have that part fail hard. The only positive thing about this product is that my garage floor is now clean from all the leaking water..Not only do not recommend this product, but I advise everyone to stay away from swivel connectors period.
1Poorleakstoo light for brass, probably plated aluminumexpensiveitem received not as illustration. Cannot be tigtened with a wrench.
2Leaks badly on AR 118 pressure washerWARNING: Do not purchase for use with AR 118 pressure washer. This coupling leaks badly when installed on my AR 118 pressure washed. i'm a mechanical engineer and spent an hour trying different washers, etc, in an effort to stop the leaking, to no avail. The coupling itself seems fine, but for some reason it won't seal properly on the AR 118. I had to revert to the original plastic fitting that came with the pressure washer.
1Just what I needed! It did the trick. I purchased this as a recommended add on piece with a booster pump. I'm so glad I did! Hose from water tank was male and fitting from pump was also male. It leaked when not straight but held up. Thankful that I depended on the "frequently purchased together" listing with the pump. Amazon shoppers are so helpful! Thanks!
4These are Different then the Pictured Item!I ordered 3 of these, specifically because they were pictured as having a hexagonal shape (good for gripping with a wrench), and were solid brass. I had previously purchased a cheaper double swivel connector at my local hardware store, which appeared to be made of aluminum that was colored to look like brass; it also had round edges, which were hard to tighten with a wrench. Unfortunately, when I received the 3 ordered through Amazon (and fulfilled directly from the manufacturer (Gilmour), they were not the same as the one pictured; instead, they seemed to be identical to the cheap, light weight, round-edged ones that I originally purchased at the hardware store. I noticed that the incorrect picture still appears on Amazon, but the price has been increased since my purchase. To add to the confusion, the model number shown for the item on the Amazon site is the same model number (7FHS7FH) showing on the ones I received, even though they are completely different products. I will be contacting the manufacturer directly to find out what is going on, because Amazon said there is nothing they can do, since this is not fulfilled by them.Brass Double Female Swivel Hose Connectors through Amazon on June 11th (which shipped directly from Gilmour), and what I received was a totally different item. The connector that was pictured had a hexagon shape, and the ones I received were completely round. But the model number was the same for both items: 7FHS7FH
1Do not buy. Terrible under pressure.Agree with all the other reviewers. Doesn't withstand any reason able amount of pressure and the middle band just blows out water. Completely useless and a waste of money. Do not buy.
1works great, no leaks!Works great. I was worried at first with all the "It leaks like crazy" reviews. The day I received it I hooked a leader hose from my house to my hose real, turned the water on (50 psi at my location) and no leaks. Now, with that said, when the ends are tightened down on their connections, this connector does not swivel, it only swivels when loose. But that is ok with me, it would be the same of you just hooked a hose up to anything, it will not swivel. Just wanted to share my experience. Maybe those who had leaks got a bad batch from a bad run or something. Anything is possible with mass produced items. In the end, I recommend this item if your looking to connect two male hose ends for any reason.
5Not as pictured, and very disappointingThis product is different from the one pictured, and it is very disappointing. Instead of having heavy, flat surfaces that can be tightened with a wrench, it has a thinner, round, knurled surface like the less expensive product made by Nelson (50574). I have used these lightweight couplers in the past, and they have never lasted a full season. Invariably, they fail at the joint connecting the two parts.I also purchased a coupler made by Green Thumb (7FHS7FGT). It is the heavier version and arrived as pictured. The slip joint on this coupler has far less play than the Gilmore. Another reviewer mentioned that the Green Thumb product was made by Gilmore, but that is not the case with mine; the package states that it is a True Value product. I hope it gives better/longer service.
2Does not hold water, you would do better holding two hoses tighter with duct tape. You had one job - to hold water. The joint between the two threaded pieces is not sealed at all - leaks badly - another user posted a video. Wish I had taken the time to view that. I'll probably end up returning this.
1leaksLeaks horribly. Nothing more to say. I couldn't use this anywhere but where you want to waste water. No me.
