Customer Reviews

Does what it promises, just realize you have a lot more work ahead of you to get rid of bed bugs.In my 50 years on this earth I had never seen a bed bug in my life, but somehow they hitched a ride into our home and bed this past year. As soon as I figured out what they were (to my utter horror) I ordered the box spring and mattress encasement. It was super easy to put on with my husbands help. I also dusted the whole thing with Diatomacious Earth before putting it on. The DE scratches the bugs exoskeleton and dehydrates them to death. It's super cheap and you can get it on Amazon. After encasing the mattress and box spring, and washing all the bedding I crop dusted the entire bedroom with DE. That night was the first time in weeks I was able to sleep through the night without the creepy crawlies attacking me.This encasement alone won't rid your house of bed bugs, because like most insects, for every one you see there are a hundred more hiding, and I knew not all of them were in the box spring when we covered it, but those that were in there are now trapped and will eventually die. You will still have to treat all your furniture, clothes, carpets and crevices like baseboards and electrical outlets etc, but with a good mattress and box spring encasement you can then make your bed a safe"island" surrounded by the DE powder to keep the other bugs off until the DE kills them.I would never wish this experience on anyone, and always thought "clean" people didn't get bed bugs, but these things are spreading like crazy in every state from what I've read, and the simple act of bringing home something from a thrift store can bring them into your home. This encasement does what it promises, it traps the bugs that are in your box spring inside, just realize it is far from your only weapon in fighting these nasty things. 5Great qualityAfter waking to a painful bite from a yellow sac spider and finding the web sac between the two box springs of my queen size bed, I purchased this to put the two together and enclose them. The size is perfect and the material seems to be good quality and should hold up well. The company provided extra protection to help prevent tearing where it sits against the bed frame. Zippers open and close smoothly and there's a cover protecting the zipper. I washed them before using and had no issues, they look and feel just as good as before washing. 5The box spring however I do not recommend.I purchased this item in march of 2016 because my son's bed caught the bed begs from the apartment that we just moved into so I decided to buy the covers for my bed as well. In May, we had thought we had gotten rid of them. The pest control did multiple treatments in our apartment since we had discovered them. Now its July of 2016 and my bed now has bed bugs. I was really confused as to how this is possible since no one is really over at the house and no one goes to my room except for me and my boyfriend and the dog. So I started looking for the signs of the bed bugs and I started to see the black droppings all over the edges of the covers. I found some more of the bugs under the mattress. I then flipped over the box spring which also had this case and I noticed two small holes on the edges. This is where they must have gotten in and this is where they are hiding. How these holes were created? I have no idea. There is no sharp edges on the bed frame that could have created this so I'm confused as to what could have happened. I am giving this a one star because there is no information on the warranty listed on the manufacturer's website and it's not listed on amazon either. You have to send them a message to see what the limited warranty entails. So far I do not have any issues with the mattress cover nor the cover I bought for my sons mattress. The box spring however I do not recommend. 1So far so good....This product is to be used as PART of the eradication of bed bugs. Everyone who has left negative reviews has not followed the other steps to rid their home of the bugs. What this product does:-Prevents bed bugs from going into or coming out of your box spring. Our box spring was definitely infested and they have not been able to escape. What YOU have to do in addition to encasing your mattress/box spring/pillows:-Wash all sheets, pillows, blankets, curtains, clothes, ANYTHING cloth in hot water and dry in the dryer. In your entire home.-Call an exterminator or pro company to steam-treat or spray your carpets, baseboards, floors. OR you can try this on your own- rent a carpet cleaner.-Throw away or spray or cover in plastic and place in the sun: papers, books, electronics, etc.-Tape up electrical sockets.-More that I cannot even list. So, yes, OF COURSE the bed bugs will nest on top of the cover. It's not made of magic or insecticide. 5Superior Protection!!! Don't skip this vital step in preventing an infestation!!!AWESOME!!!! Bought two a few years ago for my bed. Fast forward to now, my mom is living with me, and the neighbors infested the whole building. Had the professionals come and treat, and while they were on my mom's bed, none were on mine. Needless to say, had they been on my bed, they wouldn't have been able to do much damage, as this completely seals off your mattress and box spring. Just make sure to read ALL the instructions, follow them to the letter, and USE the foam stickies they give you. This will prevent any sharp parts of your frame from tearing the fabric (course, just a raised bolt can tear the fabric after you've lain on your bed off and on for a few months). I totally would buy this again, but having this already kinda negates the need to. lol 5Thank you!Got one for the mattress and box spring, and used lots of diatomaceous earth and got rid of a nasty bed bug problem! The little buggers even tried to roost in the seams of the mattress protectors, but couldn't penetrate it, and were easily spotted and wiped out. They hid between the mattress and box springs, and the box and bed slats, and the frame of the bed. I smeared/dusted the D.E. in all of these places and we finally got peace! 5Issue with bed bugsWhile I was out of town, my daughter let a friend of hers sleep in my bed. 2 weeks after returning home, my arms and fingers started itching and burning. She had changed the sheets but didn't wash the new ones she put on. I had never experienced bed bugs before so I thought I was having an allergic reaction to the dyes in the sheets. BUT after washing them I found the true cause to my problem!! It appears to have been a mild case but I still have the heebie jeebies. And under the instruction of my current exterminator, I have treated my room. Could not afford to buy new mattress and box springs so I bought the pillow covers and also the ones for my bed. So far so good. Quality seems good. Only had them on my bed for a week now and things seem to be going okay. I will continue to treat my room on a weekly basis til the end of the year (only because it makes me feel better) to make sure that every stage the bugs go through are destroyed. De-cluttering my room as I go along to make things easier. 5We didn't obtain bed bug protection. We purchased these because we discovered we had some bed bugs and the reviews were pretty positive. At first I though they were going toBe good and accomplish the purpose for which we noight them.We noticed soon thereafter however some little holes, black specks eggs, etc and still had some bed bugs showing up. We continued to treat with sprays, alcohol, powder with no lasting solution. So we ordered this same product again as this sounded better for our bed than others which were available. We cleaned box springs, mattress, floor, etc and vacuumed, prior to putting on each set and regularly vacuum, clean, spray etc.Soon after putting on the second set we began to see bugs, black specks, eggs, etc. As disappointing as this process has been we are going to order a third time. However we also wonder if a warranty applies to our experience with this product?I gave 2 stars and it may seem odd to order again but we need to replace and try again, even if it is with this same product. We have to take this set off and burn it as it looks terrible and isn't working. Thank you. 2Flimsy material, not tough!Bought this to trap the bed bugs that exist in my box spring a couple months ago. This is not durable. Was doing some extra cleaning like you are supposed to do when you have a room with bed bugs. I lifted my mattress to vacuum underneath when I discovered there was a hole in this! Then the bed bugs can just escape! Not made of tough material at all! You are better of buying allerease name brand. P.S. you dont have to get to different protectors for your box spring and mattress, they both work the same way. Just make sure you get a good one with tough material so they wont come out! 1This is a great encasement. It's labeled for use on box springs ...This is a great encasement. It's labeled for use on box springs that are 9 inches deep, but I decided to use it on my 9 inch mattress instead. It is NOT waterproof, but I didn't want it to be. Instead, I wanted my mattress to be able to really really breathe and for air to circulate on the bottom (air circulation helps prevent mold in foam and latex mattresses, I have a latex mattress on a slatted bed base) while still being protected from bed bugs. I added a waterproof mattress protector from another brand that only covers the top of the mattress (like a fitted sheet, but not waterproof on the sides). I topped that with a normal nicely padded mattress pad. This combination works really well for me. This encasement is nice and stretchy and the fabric feels high quality. I can't say if it works against bedbugs since I don't have any and my mattress is new, but based on the construction I think it definitely works for prevention. Prevention of bed bugs is much easier and cheaper than treating for them after the fact! Good luck fighting the fight ;) 5
