It was really surprising as being brass made me think it would be sturdy. It was a clean break like the metal ...It didn't last 8 months. It broke in half directly under the threads to the spigot. It was really surprising as being brass made me think it would be sturdy. It looks like two pieces of brass are held together by the molded piece of plastic. They came apart at this juncture.Update: Backyard Garden Pros proactively reached out to me after this review and sent me a replacement piece. It's working fine. I still wonder about it's structural integrity, but at least they did the stand up thing and sent me a new one. I will see.1True cost $100Within two weeks both threads broke off inside my hoses. There is no way to get the threads out of my hoses now so pretty much ruined those also. They were both very nice 100 foot hoses so this little piece of crap cost me about $100.1Solidly constructed brass dual outdoor faucetUPDATED April 2016: The seller has Excellent Customer Service and takes seriously its 100% satisfaction guarantee; after I reported an issue, the seller went above and beyond to ensure that my problem was corrected and that I was completely satisfied. I definitely recommend them to orhers and will so advise my friends as well. *******Original review: I have two main uses for the outdoor hose bib on the side of my house - (1) to hook up the hose for basic watering needs of the garden, car washing, etc. and (2) to run a soaker hose along fifty - sixty feet of my wife's rose bushes. While there are many plastic options available on the market for changing a single faucet into two (so that I don't need to keep changing the connection at the faucet between the garden hose and the soaker hose), this very sold brass unit is like a permanent extension of the hose bib turning one into two. It is so solid (and comparable in price to the plastic ones) that I wish my original hose bib had been made of the same material and quality. Fast delivery, as promised, and email follow-up by the seller with helpful tips on the products uses and features. Highly recommended purchase!5Poor qualityPoor quality! The nozzle sheared off as I was attaching it to my faucet.1Not As Described, and an Overpriced Rip-offI'm tired of the little operating levers on most of these brass valves and thought that this one might be easier to operate. From the look of it, the levers appear to be quite long, so I ordered two. In fact, the levers are not any longer than other similar valves, and I still had to use a pair of pliers to operate them initially. It occurred to me that the image might have been Photoshopped, and when I looked at it again noticed that it isn't a photograph at all, but is instead an illustration, and one that doesn't match the item sitting in front of me on my desk. What a rip-off! The two that I received look exactly like the Camco 20123 @ $11.10, and the Orbit 58248 @ $9.79. Both are available on Amazon and are Prime eligible.4/24/2014: Yesterday, I filed a complaint with Amazon about what in my opinion is the false representation of this item, and Amazon returned my money. Thanks Amazon! I then went to Orchard Supply to find a replacement, and there hanging on the wall in front of me for under $10 was the Orbit 58248. It's exactly like this one. Needless to say I did not buy it. I'm sure that the same factory in China churns these out by the millions and then they get re-branded somewhere down the line. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it did not work for me.1GarbageLasted only a little over a year with very light use. The threaded end on one side broke off inside the hose to which it was attached. Now I have to replace an almost new $50 hose, unless I can figure out a way to fix the fact that this thing is stuck to the end of it.UPDATE: In response to this review, the seller refunded my money and sent a replacement. This is excellent customer service. I will try out the replacement this summer and update my review if it performs better than the original.1Poor Material ConstructionShy away from this product. I give it a 2 bc I'm being nice. On my 1st one (3 mths old) a handle just shriveled in my hand with little pressure. I wrote the seller and kindly asked for a couple of spare handles and never heard back. In the meantime I bought a 2nd valve thinking the first was a lemon and yesterday that valve cratered too. It was leaking a little at the downspout and I had tightened it as much as possible by hand. So I took a pair of pliers and gently tried to tighten it more and connection broke. I've tightened many hoses, and even old hoses, over the years and nothing like that has ever happened. The material on this product is inferior so my advise is don't waste your good money. I went to Lowe's and bought one for 7 bucks that is a lot better construction.2Hose connectorI returned the connector. It appears to be a full flow valve, but once examined you will find the interior to be less than the smallest garden hose, especially the ball valve that reduces the opening to less than 3/8 inch. This is unsatisfactory for those of us who want a full flow through our connectors. This is not to criticize the seller or the manufacturer as product is probably made well, just reduces the water flow necessary to serve my needs.3Best Hose Y-Valve I Have Bought, but.....Use this in our boat slip. One hose supplies inside water, the other for outside washing. This past weekend was the first use (11 Oct 15) and it leaked no matter how tight I hand tightened it. I can see why others broke the connection to spigot because they had to use a wrench to make it tighter. However, I also bought at the same time from Amazon a package of Gilmour hose washers. These are slightly wider and thicker than the ones that came with your Y-valve. I replaced the washer and all is fine. Now easier to hand tighten with no leaks.I will update on durability next year, but the all brass construction appears to be high quality and machined well. Significantly better than the cast zinc crap I had before. No issue turning knobs. Very easy after a few cycles without spraying any lubricant. My only other concern is the rubber grip. I had this type on other Y-valves and the rubber to metal grip wears away and slips. But brand new, no problem. The photos in your Amazon site are clearly CAD/CAM drawings instead of the real thing. Gives the sense of hiding something. In real life, it looks good, why not use a photo of the real thing.3Cheaply made.I purchased this product a few months and tried putting it to use a few days. I Screwed it onto my faucet and it broke. Not the plastic, the actual metal part broke right off of it.1
