Description
  • Swaddling has been around for ages as it helps to prevent the startle reflex. But forcing the baby's arms to their sides or over their chest prevents two natural behaviors that frustrate the baby and they fight to get their hands free.
  • First - Over 90% of babies sleep with their ARMS UP around their head when placed on their back to sleep. This is simply a baby's natural and preferred way to sleep, just like in the womb!
  • Second - All babies are born with the need to SELF-SOOTHE by touching their face and sucking on their hands as they did in the womb. This medically proven behavior is how a baby calms and falls asleep on their own. Traditional swaddling prevents this.
  • The patented wings on the Swaddle UP allow the baby to both sleep with their arms in their preferred ARMS UP position and gives enough movement so they can SELF-SOOTHE, all while calming down the startle reflex.
  • The snug fit from our 4-way stretch fabric of 93% Cotton and 7% Elastane creates a familiar and secure feeling just like in the womb to calm the Moro (startle) reflex. Does not contain flame retardants or any harmful chemicals.

This is absolutely amazing!!This is absolutely amazing!!! My baby hated her arms swaddled down in a regular swaddle, but would startle herself awake with failing arms if we left them out. When I found this, I was so hopeful it would work, although I was a little nervous that it might be uncomfortable for her with her arms in an up position, but no worries at all, it's a perfect design. She's not uncomfortable and can suck on her hands through the fabric. Soft, stretchy fabric that allows a little give in the wing area, but not enough that we have failing arms to keep her awake. It didn't magically fix her nap problems, but has been a huge help since she's gotten used to it. Another awesome feature - it even has a little place on the back that we can buckle her into her car seat with it on. (We've only used this once, when we happened to be out super late, but it was amazing. No taking her in and out of her swaddle, just an easy transition from bed to car seat and back to bed once we got home!) I can't really say enough good about this swaddle!! 5My sister-in-law recommended this one when she saw that our baby was ...My sister-in-law recommended this one when she saw that our baby was pulling her hands out of the hospital swaddles to bring them up to her face. We already had a couple of normal swaddlers waiting at home, but this one quickly became everyone's favorite. The zipper is more convenient than the velcro fasteners on the Summer Infant ones, and the second zipper from the bottom is great for checking the diaper without completely releasing her. She loves, loves, loves having her hands up and sucking on them through this one, yes, it's kinda disturbing to see all the saliva on it, and makes us worried that it can't be comfortable as it's wet from her saliva, but it dries very quickly, and she doesn't seem to mind at all, just keeps sucking away. If your baby is the kind that constantly fights to get their hand out and up, I cannot recommend this swaddler highly enough. 5For babies who hate traditional swaddlesI don't even know where to start. I LOVE these swaddles. My firstborn did awesome with the traditional swaddle so I assumed my second would as well. Boy was I wrong. She could NOT stand for her hands to be tied down because she liked to rub her cheeks with her fists. After nearly a month of running on minimal sleep (and countless swaddles later), I was ready to throw in the towel. Then I came across the SwaddleUp. Game. Changer. I can't say enough good things about it. It's roomy enough in the legs that she can kick her feet, but snug enough in the belly that she still feels secure. She has access to her hands without being able to startle herself awake during the night and she's able to position her arms where they're most comfortable. It has a zipper that can be unzipped from the top or from the bottom which makes middle of the night diaper changes a breeze. It also has a little slit in the back near the rear which allows her to wear her swaddle while strapped into a swing or bouncer.Putting on the SwaddleUp has become part of our bedtime ritual. The quality of sleep she gets is so much better and the extra hours of sleep mommy and daddy get aren't too bad either. The only downside (if you can even call it one) is that being able to reach her hands means they're constantly in her mouth, especially now that she's teething. So if you're able to, definitely stock up! We have a few different colors that we rotate through quite often because she likes to suck her little hands. 5Love but dont buy xs.Love this! my baby busted out of being wrapped in a swaddle within seconds because he wanted his hands near his face. This has been the perfect solution. But here's a tip i wish i knew. Save your money and don't get the xs the only difference is in the legs and that area should be loose anyways. The upper body is EXACTLY the same. 5worth every penny just to get a picture of your baby looking like an adorable gray teddy bearFirst off, worth every penny just to get a picture of your baby looking like an adorable gray teddy bear. It's insanely adorable on.I decided to try this swaddle for two reasons:- I'm awful at swaddling manually- weather right now is too hot for traditional swaddles in my opinionI absolutely love this one! I had tried the peanut, halo and summer infant swaddle alternatives and none worked very well for us for one reason or another. All of them required to have the baby's arms down, but were not tight enough to keep them that way so he ended up struggling to get his arms close to his face (and in the case of Halo ended up struggling so much that the fabric ended up covering his face!!!).With this one there was no struggle. He was perfectly content as I zipped it up because he naturally sleeps with his arms in that position if I leave him unswaddled. He can still move his arms and touch his face and mouth if he wants to, but the fabric provides enough resistance that he doesn't smack himself when he's asleep and wakes himself up. The fabric is very very soft and doesn't feel hot.Recommend it 100%! 5DangerousThis product does exactly what it advertises, however, when you swaddle in this, it puts babies arms in the perfect place to roll over. My twins are 4 weeks old and are no where close to rolling over, however put them in this and watch them fuss a little on the monitor, and both of them either rolled on their stomach or nearly on their stomach. I inmediately threw these away. Total waste of money and absolutely dangerous.Would not recommend. 1Our baby s favorite swaddlePrior to this swaddle we tried wrapping in a muslin blanket, the Halo, and SwaddleMe. When our son was about 2 months old (1 month adjusted) we tried the Swaddle Up. The biggest issues we were having were:1. The process of swaddling him got him energized and 2. He would struggle to free his hands rather than fall asleep. This swaddle has resolved both of those issues. It s so simple and quick to zip this up so he doesn t get frustrated and start to fuss. And since he can reach his hand to suck on it (through the fabric) he doesn t try to break out of it. The second zipper makes diaper changes really easy too. It used to take 30-45 minutes to get him back to sleep after nighttime feedings and now it s 10-15 mins. No more hearing him straining and wiggling trying to break out of the swaddle.Since every baby is different, it might be worth it to start with 1 and then get more if you find they work for your baby. We were going to try the Zipadee next but were hesitant due to how loose the fabric looked. Glad we tried Swaddle Up first! 5My Long story short.....BUY IT!!!Baby boy was 6 weeks old when I first used this swaddle. He is my 3rd baby and he has been my most difficult sleeper. Up every 40 mins or so all day and all night unless I put him on his stomach (which I only did during the day for nap times) or I carried him on my chest then he was asleep all day. I spent hundreds of dollars on 2 swings, 2 rockers, & 3 chairs and he HATED them all. I was lost as to what to do because I also have a 3 year old and a 12 year old who were starting school and i needed to drive them so i needed sleep bad. To top it off he only wanted me! Sister and Dad would hold him so I could try and sleep during the day and he would be fine for about 30 mins then he would not stop crying till I held him. I finally decided I would buy swaddles and see what happened because blanket swaddling did not work for him he would SCREAM even if I left his arms up. So I came on amazon and bought the first 5 swaddles that came up. The first night using this swaddle he fought it a little. Whined but was not crying so I thought it was working. Then that night he woke up about 5 times still, thought ok gonna keep trying this since he doesnt hate it (not screaming cry, still just whinning) then last night he woke up ONCE! Woke up ate he was awake for about an hour then right back to sleep. During naps in the day time, all I have to do is feed him, change the diaper put him in the swaddle give him his pacifier and he is off to sleep by himself!! I was so happy this morning I cried! Keeping the other swaddled but havent even opened them. The material is nice and soft, stretchy and light enough for the summer. 5Good idea, poor designI thought this was going to be my solution to better sleep because my baby has a horrible startle refex. The first night i tried this product she ended up waking more than usual. I thought it was because she needed to get used to it but then I noticed a red mark the size of a quarter on the back of her neck! The swaddle is designed so the baby sleeps with their arms up, but when my baby puts her hands in her mouth to sooth the fabric is pulled forward and digs into her neck! She was wearing a size medium and is 13 pounds. 1Great product; be careful of counterfeits***Update 7/24/18***Changing to a 5 star review. Pink swaddle turned out to be a counterfeit from another seller off of this listing. I have notified amazon. Grey swaddle was authentic and I was able to find a pink one at my local target to confirm that the quality IS consistent. Fake product differs in that it is the wrong fabric, lacks an exterior logo, lacks a neck tag, has a small exterior tag and the zipper is too short (though the zipper itself has the same heart imprint).**Original Review**I love this product but can t give a 5 star review due to inconsistencies in quality and build. My grey swaddle was exactly as pictured but the pink one had some subtle differences that overall, makes it not as desirable for use. Primarily, the zipper on the pink swaddle does not go as far down as it does on the grey, making evening diaper changes near impossible without disturbing baby (you either need to contort her legs in an unreasonable manner to get them out or completely remove her from the swaddle, arms first). Additionally, the pink swaddle does not have as much give as the grey and reads 100% cotton on the label (sewn on the outside unlike the grey one) - it s far less comfortable for baby to sleep in. I m wondering if maybe I got an older version? The piping and measurements look identical to the grey one but the pink is also missing the heart shaped logo in the front and doesn t have the tag on the back of the neck. Overall, I love the grey swaddle but extremely disappointed with the pink one. Hesitant to purchase any more from this company since who knows what I ll get? 5
