Slides but Does the Job
I have this on my pantry door- I didn't connect it with screws so it does slide and that's annoying but it does hold what I need so I just slide it over when it moves- My door is hollow so I didn't want to drill holes into it since the ironing board is heavy and along with the iron etc- didn't want to take the chance it would come loose and leave holes in the door. I had a hard plastic rubbermaid one before- I liked that better- but they don't make that kind anymore- This one does it's job.
3I have an over-sized, heavy Y-leg ironing board, ...
I have an over-sized, heavy Y-leg ironing board, and this is the only holder I've been able to find that will work. Because my ironing board is so heavy, I use the door mount rather than the wall mount. I also have a heavy Rowenta iron, which fits well in the basket, along with my spray bottle.
5It's an okay hanger but could be better
All in all I think it's a pretty good iron board hanger.I believe the hanger should have came with 4 screw holes instead of 2 for extra support. The material could have been a little stronger for the price as well. To make sure mines was properly secured and it wouldn't fall down I put two screws underneath the frame as well.
3Should have bought this years ago!
My husband and I hung this inside a small linen closet yesterday, in all of five minutes. Although we were hanging it on wood rather than just drywall, we used the anchors too just in case. It seems very sturdy. (NOTE: For those who are planning to just hang this over the back of a door, the one we received did not come with hooks for that--I see other reviewers here say that it is supposed to.) A simple product, to be sure, but I only wish we'd bought it years ago--now we can finally open the linen closet without dodging a heavy ironing board!
5Ironing Board holder that fits MY needs!
For a long time I have looked for an ironing board storage solution that would accommodate my Y-shaped ironing board legs AND my large iron. This one is great! I also like the option of using over the door hanging or mounting to the wall. The item came quick and in perfect condition.
5OCD organization fiend
Perfect. Exactly what I was looking and hoping for. I decided on a wall mounted ironing board holder instead of a door mounted holder because I didn t want the iron board to bang against my door every time I open it close the door. It s very sturdy and efficient. I appreciate organization and am a sucker for everything having a place where it belongs. This is a great product! And it was one of the most affordable options!
5Great for organized geeks
Great product im so happy I purchased it.
5Convenient
Holds everything in one place. Ease of installation.
5Works. Barely.
Two mounting holes are only 12 inches apart so both screws aren't going into wall framing. The hardware that comes with the product is sketchy for the weight of an ironing board, steam iron and a bottle of starch -- two very small screws (#6 by 1" maybe?) and plastic hollow wall anchors. I mounted a 14" square of 3/4" plywood to a stud with two 2 1/2" screws and then mounted the holder to the plywood. The metal that the holder is made from is pretty flimsy. Our ironing board has legs like the one in the picture -- angled like a "V" and the weight of the board when suspended pushes the two hooks outward left and right so the board hangs lower than the picture shows. Finally, our Rowenta iron doesn't sit firmly in the holder. The butt end of the iron's handle rests on the round-bottomed notch in the holder so there are isn't a secure feel. We're using it. Nothing's going to fall off the wall, but be advised...
3Perfect!
This was exactly what we were looking for to use in our laundry room. I was concerned with two things: Would it be sturdy enough to hold our heavier than average board? Would it hold the angled legs (because it looks like it was only meant for a board with a flat base)? The answer is yes to both! It's super sturdy and the board hangs just fine. We love the color, as well. It was also super easy to install. I highly recommend this if you're looking for something to mount to hold your ironing board.
