Works Great But......Ok, I love it. It Feels really great in you hand. It has a nice weight to it. My only complaint is that I noticed today that after washing it and leaving it in the dish drainer overnight It started to rust. It was only a few spots that I was able to get off but none the less I would have expected this item to be stainless steel and not rust. 3Bench food scrape shovelGreat vibrant colors! So easy to find when looking in my wife's cooking arsenal. I bought her the first one in purple and she found the grip very comfortable and easy to hold on to with her small hands. She did not think she would have much use for this until she used it when cutting vegetables. She has found it reduces the time it takes to gather everything she minces, dices, slices and needs to put into her bowls or cooking pans. When she started to use the food scraper, she needed a 2nd scraper to gather with. Now I bought her 2 more and she loves them. She had trouble with some things sticking to her hands but these food scrapers do not have that trouble.Use two together and just pick up whatever fits onto them to place in your pots or pans with no mess, no fuss. We have had no trouble washing these by hand and I purchased her first food scraper in July of last year and my wife has found them to be an indispensable cooking tool in her kitchen! No problems with rust or food particles sticking to any part of this when washing off. Please post any questions you may have if I did not answer a possible, what's on your mind. I hope you find this helpful. 5YOU WONT REGRET THIS!!Really love this bench scraper. It has sides to hold the food on you just chopped! You can even cut some things with it. Very well worth the money. I even bought a 2nd one! It has a purple handle the description says. Well you can't tell the difference between it and the black one! They both look alike. That's the bad part! So big deal! They work great, feel good in your hand and pick up a lot of food. This purchase you won't regret. 5Incorrect product description. 10% less surface area than advertised.I like the feel of this product and was hoping to give it a 5 star rating. However, I purchased this mostly because the product description states it is 6.8 inches long and it is 6 inches long like most competitors. I would bet Rachel Ray does not even know she is endorsing a product that does not measure up to the description and I hope my 1 star rating will be reviewed by Amazon quality control and fixed. It's rare for me to give a one star rating but I was looking forward to see how the extra 10% surface area compared to my old scrapper. 1How Did I Ever Cook Without This?I've noticed similar products to this being used in cooking shows in the last year. Somehow I had never previously been aware of the scraper. I love it!!!! Great for scooping onions or other chopped items into your pans for sauteing (or into a bowl for mixing). This particular product is well made. The grip is comfortable and you can tell it's not made of cheap materials that will wear off after many uses. The scraper part is s a good size and holds a large amount of chopped food when needed. You know with the Rachel Ray name it will be a quality product, but I was surprised that the price was not too expensive (compared to other scrapers I had looked at). Good value for the money, and a product made to last a long time. 5This should be a part of every cook's arsenalEvery now and then I run across a simple little tool that I knew about but never owned. I always used the side of my chefs knife to transfer chopped, diced or minced food to the pan or bowl. I thought that a scoop or shovel was not necessary and was better suited for amateurs. Then I was cooking at a friend's house and saw him using this exact tool. I was shocked to see how quickly he picked up every bit of the chopped rosemary that was on his cutting board. As soon as I got home I purchased Rachael Ray's Bench Scrape/Shovel and I am glad that I did.I am always surprised by just how much food fits in this thing. In addition to using it as I shovel, I also use it to clean my cutting board, especially when I have been rolling dough on it. I also can divide dough with the knife edge of the scrape. I like it so much I will be using it as a hostess gift when I am invited to someone's house. It would also be an appropriate gift for a young cook. Great product! 5Worth it!I got this because I didn't want to use my knife to scoop up the cut-up vegetables/fruits. At first, I wasn't sure if I was going to like letting go of my knife, putting this in my hand, scooping things up, then putting it back down for the knife. After doing this a few times, I quickly realized that the time doing so was worthwhile. You can scoop a whole lot more with a knife and it's a much more accurate scoop! 5Good value and works as designed.Bought two of these , one as a gift, and like the ease of use and how it cleans up so far. Helps pick up chopped and dives food and makes prep work easier. I like options of colors. No problems or complaints so far after several months of using. Good value on Amazon vs store bought I wished I would ve bought two now to use as scoops for larger piles of preppped food . 5I wish I would have had this years ago...This is one of my favorite pieces of kitchen gear and up until I got this a couple of years ago I had no idea just how useful ones of these bench shovels would be. I keep it in a place on honor behind my rather large Boos cutting board which is way too large to pick up and move over to the stove and dump the freshly cut ingredients into the pan. The edge on the scrapper is perfect for moving things around a cutting board and the scoop holds a good amount (more than a chopped onion) and it makes cleaning up the board a breeze. The handle is also super comfortable and I should almost order another one so that I always have on clean. The only negative to this scraper is that Rachael Ray got some of my money :) 5Ruggedly made, very useful kitchen gadgetThis is exactly the quality that I thought it would be (based on the photo and the other reviews) and for under $8 I think it's a very good buy. I am constantly chopping onions, mushrooms, garlic and before I bought this I did the little dance--trying to push the stuff into the palm of my hand to transfer it to the pan, dropping half of it on the floor (unfortunately onions and mushrooms don't interest the cats), etc. I used to work in a bakery long ago and should have thought of owning this neat little device sooner. It works great and the blue handle is very cheerful (just in case you need cheerful kitchen toys). My only suggestion is that they make the leading edge sharper and thinner--it's a tiny bit on the thick side and so still takes some work to push small pieces up onto the blade. A sharper blade would also let you chop a bit, too. But those are minor issues.Nicely made, very affordable--a great gift for a kitchen pal because it is extremely useful and it will last forever. I'd bet willing to be someone who does a lot of crafts work or has a wood shop would invent good uses for this, too.By the way, I don't have a clue who Rachel Ray is :) 5
