Nice Cheesecloth for Kefir MakingThis is actually quality cheescloth with a right, fine weave, which doesn't shred apart like other brands - which have then left threads and shreds in the food I am preparing.I ordered this cheesecloth to help me strain kefir, and to use it as a cover for the jar so the mix can breathe. I also plan on using this for straining fruit purees for cheesecakes. For the price (less than $5.00), the size is generous and will last me 6 months or more. I would definitely buy this again. 5Perfect For Straining Bone Broth Or GheeI use these for straining homemade ghee and bone broth. I fold them into four layers and they are still big enough to line my strainer. Two sides are selvages and won't fray, but the other two sides are raw edges, so I squared them off and hemmed them by hand. This will no doubt make them more durable. They wash up very nicely. Without unfolding them, I shake out any strained out items, then run hot water through from the back side to rinse out as much fat and debris as I can. A squirt of dish soap and a gentle rub to work up a lather, then rinse thoroughly. I then unfold them and hang them to dry. With careful use, these will last me a long time. 5Just what I needed for cooking!More than plenty for what I needed at a great price! Good quality and food safe. I made butter/oil for edibles and needed to strain out plant matter, worked perfectly and held together after rigorous wringing out, twisting, and compression. Held up to high temps as well, ~240 FRecommend and will buy again! For my personal edit, i used coconut oil and got amazing results, recommended plant matter at ~the percentage to weight ratio to use for the butter i used produced highly accurate results during the double boiling process, definitely use this for large or small ratios, it fits all your needs!!! 5Not lint free!It said lint free, but upon closer inspection you can see tiny little hair like wisps. I decided to trust it anyway so I just rinse it thoroughly before using it. Still had a slight odor but that might be natural? Still, I would definitely go for a better quality cheesecloth. Will probably throw in the garbage. Other reviews said that it made their liquids brown? This alarms me because the first thing I used it on was my fruit and veggie smoothie, so I don't even know if this item affected my drink, oh well I guess. 1Not sure what to think of this, who can use this...The product in itself is okay, but I just wanted such thing for making at home nut milk with my blender. These are way too big, so I cut it up into smaller parts, but then lots of small threads came off. I didn't realize that it wasn't a bag, but a cloth (my bad!) which was very impractical. Also it did not seem to sift very well, it felt a little fragile, so I didn't want to squeeze too hard.So for making my own nut milk I am going to buy bags and see what happens in comparison. So if you want to use it for simple at home nut milk making with your blender I would suggest for you to buy a milk bag instead of this. 3You can get some flour-sack towels for nearly the same price which work way better and last foreverDon't bother. You can get some flour-sack towels for nearly the same price which work way better and last forever. 1Bad qualityTerrible. You get what you pay for. Fabric shreds and sheds and gets into anything you use with it. Don t trust amazon reviews many companies pay people to write 5 star reviews. 1Good, basic productAPPEARANCE: arrived clean, crisp and neatly folded. I appreciated the minimal packaging.QUALITY: it has held up well to use and cleans easily.CONCERNS: the cloth is not as easy to tear or cut as I expected, which may detract from usefulness depending upon your project.VALUE: high. Cheesecloth can be hard to find in local stores. The Amazon price is equivalent to store price, with convenient shipping. Please click "helpful" if you liked this review. 4Better options for the same price out there.Really thin, hard to cut, leaves little threads everywhere, and looks/smells kind of dingy. It gets the job done, but there are better options out there. I'll finish using the package but wouldn't buy it again. 3Awesome!I just made ricotta with this bad boy.(From this AMAZING book I cannot recommend enough https://www.amazon.com/Food-Lab-Cooking-Through-Science/dp/0393081087/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1506902000&sr=8-1&keywords=j+kenji+lopez+alt)After washing and hanging to dry, it looks great and ready for another use. Can't beat that for the price. 5
