great productHave been using this for some time now and it's holding up to washings in the washing machine (in a delicate laundry bag), although I always hang to dry. My hair is less broken. I don't notice any results on my skin, but I do use Smoothies anyway to iron out wrinkles while I sleep, so that's not a surprise. I will be buying another when this one finally wears out. Just wish there was a zipper.
5Did not get what promisedThe product says pure silk, 100% silk. When arrived it said 100% polyester chanteuse satin. Very disappointed.
1Don't Try To Wash ItReceived this and it looked and felt great. I decided to wash it before using it. The description actually reads "Can be hand washed but also durable enough to withstand repeated machine washing on delicate settings. Air drying is recommended as excessive heat can damage silk".So I decided to wash it as I would any other washable silk...cold water, delicate/hand-wash cycle, hang to dry. However, as soon as it came out of the wash, I knew it was ruined. It's supposed to be a King, but now it won't even fit on a regular pillow.
1Sleeping on a CloudI never realized how many times I woke at night to adjust my ears, hair and face when using a cotton pillowcase. With this silk pillowcase, you just glide over the surface. I was worried that my face oil, hair oil, and sweat might stain these pillows, but so far it hasn't. I have only washed them twice so far, and they are easy to hand wash and dry (with cold water and castile soap). There was no visible dye leaking in about a gallon of water. I have four colors: navy, gray, blush and red. I love them!
5I wish I could return this pillowcase!Best pillowcase faded after the first wash there's practically no color left. 3 weeks after I colored my hair and over 12 Washings I got sweaty one night and woke up with hair dye all over my pillow case sucked down into the pillow case below and the pillow. My hairdresser says it's impossible something is wrong with this pillow case it is a wrinkled faded shrunk mess.
1Not what it seems...I bought this in hopes that the theory silk could help with "bed head" or keeping hair from developing knots during sleep, as mentioned in previous testimonials. Prior to buying this, I was told to put my hair in a ponytail at night to help with this issue, but I found that was more damaging because it was causing hair breakage. So I thought I would give this a try. Even after several months of use, I still do not know if I can validate that this works. Sometimes I think it does, and sometimes I think it does not. It seems my hair becomes more unruly if I do an unusual amount of sweating at night. The only help I see by using a silk pillow case is that it does not retain heat by keeping the pillow cool. I can say with certainty that the bed head is not as bad as before and I do believe I have less issues in the morning with my hair but it did not take away the problem completely for me which were my hopes with this item . If it did, then I would say the price I paid was worth it. I think most women would be willing to pay more for something if they knew it worked, but now that I find that this didn't, I feel I paid too much for something just as simple as a pillow case. I gave it an average rating because I do use the pillow every night and have seen somewhat of an improvement but I would never pay this much for a pillow case again.
3Great product, silk not satinI have 2 of these and swear they reduce the frizz in my naturally curly hair. I originally bought them to help prevent wrinkles and they might help with that, but really they are just so comfortable! No real special washing care is needed; I found this out when my husband washed AND dried them on accident. I was hand washing them but now just throw them in with our regular sheets and they are surviving just fine.If you are looking for a silk pillowcase, not satin, this is worth the money. Your pillows won't slip off your bed like they do with satin pillowcases.Highly recommend!
5in hopes that it would help with my side sleeping wrinkles and I would not wake up with as bad of creases as I always doI purchased the pillowcase because of extensive research of the pillowcase and reviews, in hopes that it would help with my side sleeping wrinkles and I would not wake up with as bad of creases as I always do. There was no defect with the pillowcase, it is made of great material, and to me it helped keep me cooler while sleeping. It just did not help at all for the reason that I purchased it. I would wake up with worse creases on my face from my side sleeping for some reason, so I went back to my old pillowcases.
2No just noBuy a silk pillow case they said...it will help with bed head they said. Alas, it does not. I look like a 5 year old after a day at the water park whos mom was too tired to bathe me before I went to sleep. I do not recommend. My hair was dry and straightened like a board before I woke up to this atrocity. Fun.
1Wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. Extremely cheap quality and very disappointing. Before buying this product, I had already purchased silk pillowcases for beauty reasons from bed bath and beyond for $35 each and wanted to try and save some money. When my spasilk pillowcases arrived in the mail I was instantly disappointed and went to UPS to return them within 30 minutes. They felt extremely cheap and weren t shiny at all. The only way silk pillowcases can reduce friction is by having a very soft silky texture and these did not. I did not read the reviews before purchasing so I wish I had but I do not recommend this item and suggest choosing a different brand.
