The color and feel was wonderful for a nice qualityThe color and feel was wonderful for a nice quality, yet not too expensive Egyptian cotton choice. I purchased these for my Mom, who is bed-ridden and on hospice. I try to find vivid colors to brighten up her bed, and these worked perfectly for that. The deep pockets are extremely generous and went over both mattresses on her hospital bed, another plus. She loves them, and they laundered great.
5Attracts LOADS of dust, cat hair, etc.!Apparently i have always taken for granted the fact that ALL OF THE OTHER SHEETS i've owned did NOT attract dust, cat hair, small particles, etc. I thought maybe it was the "new" factor. Wrong. I washed them at least 5xs and dowsed in fabric softener. (Great for the environment, obviously.) Two years later and these sheets have gotten no better in this regard.I was only seeking replacement sheets and now i feel like i'm sleeping in dirt. These sheets are not even very soft. I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1 because they fit correctly and the color is not (yet) fading.
2Acceptable value, very thin fabricWith any review of a product like this, price must be a factor. These sheets are an acceptable value, which enabled me to rate them with three stars. My time was valuable, so given the effort involved in finding a higher quality alternative at a discount store, this online purchase made sense. While I wasn't expecting Pratesi quality for forty five dollars, the fabric is a bit on the thin side and not in a good way. When first unfolding sheets from the original packaging, sunlight from a bedroom window was showing through the marginal fabric. It is somewhat difficult to describe the feel but the word "paper" comes to mind. These look great on a bed but the big question is the long-term durability. Perhaps sheets don't need to be that durable in a typical residential setting. If you are in rush, on a budget and like the aesthetic design of these sheets, you should be okay. Just don't expect to be overwhelmed with the quality.
3Watch the seams - they fray after washingI'm disappointed with the quality of the stitching of these sheets. After washing them before the first use, I noticed that the pocket seams are not serged and that the fabric has started to fray. I would return them but its easier to just serge the corners myself. I've been purchasing these sheets for years and this is the first time I've had this issue.
24/5I was expecting something softer. I like the looks..these sheets are very elegant in appearance. However to me they aren't soft. I would give them 2 stars because of that. It's very difficult to go from Egyprian cotton to these sheets...I can't really comment on durability as I have had them only a few weeks.
4Not worth the struggle. These sheets look and feel very decent. I was very excited to receive the item. Pulled out the fitted sheets and proceded to try them out. Wow! It looks like it'll fit. By the time I got to the final corner it wouldn't stretch, I kept trying even to the point of just barely getting all the corners, even that wasn't working very easily, I needed to really pull to get all four corners on, then to pull the ends down without one of the other ends popping off. After thinking about it and looking at the fitted sheets again, I decided to return the item. It's not worth struggling for 10-20 mins to put on fitted sheets, and because I had to pull very hard to get all four corners on I'd probably rip them in the near future. They need to make the sides larger.
2they arent worth their price. possible wrong info about themno way this threadcount is accurate, and im sure this is not all cotton. sheets seem to have a lot of staic cling even with liquid softener and sheet softener added in wash. the wri kle factor is high in this sheet set. also the dont feel as soft as 300 thread count 100% cotton strioed sheets when new from another store and high end brand.
1They are nice, feel softWe ordered these sheets in taupe. They are nice, feel soft, but like some of the other customers indicated, the sheets are somewhat thin. Considering the price I expected they might be thinner than higher priced sheets. The color looks much different than pictured - it is darker and closer to "milk chocolate" than taupe IMO. Overall I am happy with my purchase considering the excellent price.
4Not worth the moneyFirst, I need to say the sheets fit perfectly and were a very rich navy blue. Unfortunately, that's where the positive ends. The sheets were washed before using and we found them quite rough and scratchy. On top of that, they were a lint and hair magnet. Anything that came close to the sheets seemed to stick to them. I put them into the wash for the second time and they came out of the washing machine with lint and hair still on them. Softener is used and our washing machine is only a month old. So there is no reason that these should not come out perfectly clean as everything else I wash has. These sheets are not worth the cost and I would not recommend them.
2Egyptian cotton not all thatI owned a waterbed store for 10 years and I've owned a waterbed for over 40 years. All I've ever heard for the last so many years is raving about egyptian cotton. So I purchased these thinking okay this will be good. Well they aren't.all that. First the description didn't say that it required poles for the corners, which to me, if you have a properly cut sheet set, the pockets they put on the sheets are plenty to hold the sheets on. Luckily this sheet set does have big pockets that also have pole option sleeves. So score one for the sheet set. The sheet set is sufficiently cut to fit after washing. So score two for the sheet set. But the sheet set has a terrrible finish; it does not have a smooth finish (minus one) and it is so rough to the touch, that you literally have to sit/lift up to turn over in bed otherwise you literally drag the sheet with you making the sheet gather (minus another one). Additionally when you wash and dry the sheets, they wrinkle something fierce. Waterbed sheets being the size they are and with the top sheet and bottom sheet attached make for a lengthy piece of material that utilmately will twist in wash and drying. So you don't want something that looks like it was run over and over and over then pressed flat all while it was twisted and gathered up. You cannot keep these sheets from having this degree of wrinkle. So minus another one. All in all I was sorely disappointed in these sheets. I've got one set of muslin sheets that I bought back in the eightys and even new after one wash they were never this "rough" feeling. I would not recommend these and would advise that you look to get a good percale set of sheets. Good sheets shouldn't be cheap because really good sheets will literally last for years as long as you rotate and don't use them over and over and over. I've got percale sheet sets that have less than a 300 thread count and they are unbelievable nice being 30 to 40 years old. I'd like to return these if I could but I know no one is going to really care about my satisfaction - It's just a lesson learned.
