Nice looking pan, but not a flat, level bottom.I bought this to replace a pan that didn't sit flat on my glass-top range. This is a nice looking pan, but it doesn't have a flat surface, either. When I oil the pan, all the oil flows to the outer edge away from the center where most of the food is (and you most need the oil). The size, and weight is nice, and it is great that it comes with a lid. I expect the non-stick surface to last about as long as my other T-Fal fry pans, which when used daily only last about 8 months before the finish starts peeling off. (note: I NEVER cook over medium heat, usually lower than that, and never heat it empty. And I always gently hand wash them). Also, I tried to register the pan for the warranty on their website, but the site won't keep the model number/name that I type in, and it won't register without that required information. Very frustrating! 3No other will do for meCould not buy a better pan for the money.This is my second one, and with proper care is bound to last as long as my previous one (7 years). To clean it, simply rinse it under hot water using a soft sponge and liquid dish soap; the heat of the water activates the non-stick, so left over food slides right off. .It is sturdy, yet light enough to handle, and it does not bow with high heat (unlike my $60 "bargain priced" Calphalon)The small handle is really a lifesaver for handling the pan when it's filled with food.The cover fits perfectly.This pan is perfect for cooking chicken and frying, but also for family-sized entrees (will easily fit 4 large slices of shank for ossobuco). My favorite thing to do with it is stewed, caramelized vegetables (a side dish we call Fricando in Italy), which are quite bulky going in and reduce to less than half their size.. To make it, just heat up some olive oil ( about 3 tbsp), add 1 large sliced onion, 4-5 medium sized peppers, chunks of eggplant (medium sized), 2 medium zucchini squash and 3 medium sized Idaho potatoes(3/4-1" chunks), a dash of salt, pepper, 1 tbsp garlic powder and 2 large bay leaves. Cover and cook for 10 minutes on medium high. Stir, lower the heat to simmer, add in 3-4 tbs of water (or broth) and simmer for another 15 minutes till the water is absorbed and the vegetables are caramelized. Adjust the seasonings to taste and serve.In case you have any left over, (I doubt it but it may happen), it tastes even better the next day. Have it cold or scramble eggs over it for breakfast.Enjoy your pan and your new recipe 5Best Pan Ever! Use for everythingI already owned this pan for about ten years. After cooking with it daily, my son scratched it with a metal utensil. I was so excited to find this pan on Amazon, for less than half of what I originally paid for it. It is perfect. I use it for everything. It is large enough to make a pot of chili in it. I use it for omelets, porkchops, spaghetti sauce, stir fry, you name it. It comes with a vented glass lid. It is not too heavy to lift when full, and has handles on both sides. If you use only plastic utensils in it you should have it for a very long time. It washes very easily, and you really never need to use a heat setting above medium because it heats very evenly. I kept the old one for my son to use....it's still good...but this new one is all mine! I highly recommend this pan. 5It would be wonderful if not for the warpingThere are several things I like about this pan:* It's large & deep* Side handle is convenient* Lid is nice & easy to cleanHowever, that being said, the bottom of the pan warped after just a few uses. The large center "spot" on the bottom warped outward, which causes any liquids in the pan to pool to the center. I even followed all the directions (not to put it under cold water when hot).So while there are the positive aspects of owning this pan, the fact that is now warped and food cooks unevenly is enough to make me recommend against purchasing it. 2I love this pan so much I bought a second oneI am a beginner when it comes to cooking but I cook often and hard. I am not gentle with this poor old pan; I dog it - I've dropped it, I tap my cooking utensils on the pan edges to get excess food off the utensils even though the pan directions say not to do that, and I put it in the dishwasher a few times a week. After a full year of enduring my treatment of it and its poor lid, it is still in great shape. It has little tons of scratches on the outsides but the nonstick surface is completely unscathed. I use this pan so much I bought a second one so I can abuse both at the same time. I would definitely suggest getting this pot if you need a workhorse in the kitchen. And if you treat it better than I treat mine - which you really should - I feel like the nonstick coating will last practically forever. Note: I only use wooden or plastic utensils so as not to damage the coating 5Inferior Non-stick CoatingThis was a replacement pan for a nearly identical T-Fal pan that lasted a couple of years without any peeling or problems. In fact, I purchased two of these pans on Prime Day. The other one is fine at this point in time, but as you can see, this pan was a total waste of money and a real disappointment. The non-stick coating loosened up and peeled off after my husband let it sit with liquid in it for an afternoon. I doubt I will purchase another T-Fal pan as I don t like the odds of possibly getting another pan with faulty coating. 3Sadly, must return due to one poor design.It is sad that this pot has potential to be a 5 star pot. I'm not sure if it's intentional, but my pan arrived "warped" like other reviews mentioned. However, I'm not sure if this is a defect or an intentional design. The pan I received was convex, meaning the center is higher than the rest of the pan, making the oil all slide to the side. Cooking steaks would be impossible on this pan, since all the grease would slid to the corner of the pan, thus making the meat burn off the fat, and overcook without the grease to help sear it. Anyways, that's the only issue I encountered. This would have been an easy 5 star pan, if not for this design/defect, because it has all the other features of a quality pan for such a good price. 1This has been one of my favorite pans for a couple years nowThis has been one of my favorite pans for a couple years now. That changed today when the lid suddenly imploded while I was simmering some baked beans on the stove. I had the lid tilted on the pan to let out steam and the pan was on a medium hot stove when the lid just suddenly shattered into a hundred pieces. I have never seen anything like this happen! I am a little worried now because I recently purchased all T-fal cookware. I am hoping it was a freak accident. I still gave this pan three stars because it was my favorite and the pan still works without the lid.Update: Because I loved this pan so much I bought another so I would have a lid. I still love the pan and the new lid hasn't imploded yet. Fingers crossed! 3I love the fact it is lightweightI love the fact it is lightweight. So many other pans are so heavy before you start to cook I can hardly lift them. This cleans fast, easy, and you can place it in the dishwasher as well without warping or changing colors. The best part is it works on induction tops as that is a difficult thing to find without a heavyweight pan. I took away a star only because the bottom is not completely flat on the inside. It is a slight bit higher in the middle to allow drainage to the outside. I did not like this feature. In many applications, it might be nice, yet I prefer a completely flat pan on the inside. Price is reasonable for an induction pan as induction cookware is expensive. It can go in the oven too but it states per the manufacture the lid is 500 degrees tolerable, but the pan is 350 degrees tolerable. Did not make sense to me they would not do them both at the same tolerance of heat. For the price, I am very satisfied with it. 4The non-stick is great, but be prepared to fry on the side ...I read in the reviews that the bottom was higher in the middle than on the sides, but I figured I can handle that. Turns out, the middle is really, really, higher. Unless you want 1/2 inch of oil on the side to cover the middle just a little bit, the middle will always be dry. The non-stick is great, but be prepared to fry on the side and dry-roast in the middle. 3
